Monique Serra Photography
As an artist, I am constantly trying to grow and learn and find new inspiration around me. After having my first baby in August, I knew I wanted to “come back” with something different. Being able to collaborate with other talented artists allowed me so much freedom and creativity to do something different, which was exactly what I (and WE) all needed! I had this concept in mind: Light vs. Dark. I am so intrigued by natural light and how different a photo can look simply based on the time of day it was shot, the angle the sun was positioned, or the direction my subject was facing. One of my very best friends is a makeup artist and so I asked her if she would be interested in collaborating with me. She was equally as enthused and excited to do a light vs dark concept because just as it is with light, makeup can completely alter and change the mood of a photo. We found the perfect model, contacted our friends at Good Seed Floral for the flower crown, got a great hair dresser, found a private residential location, and we were set (did I mention this entire photoshoot was set up and created in less than 3 days?)! I am so happy and excited with the results and SO thankful to every person who was on board to make this happen. I thrive off of opportunities like this and being surrounded by other passionate people inspires me!
