In an effort to take advantage of an unseasonably gorgeous day, I met up with model Valerie Lott, makeup and hair artist Jessica Morris Artistry, and fellow photographer Meagan Abell on a sunny but chilly March day for a styled bridal session. The dress I created using 22 yards of tulle, the bodice of an old dance costume of mine, and a pleasant afternoon of sewing. Meagan Abell created the floral hairpiece. We opted for an undeveloped spot of land alongside the interstate in Midlothian, Virginia, for our location. Valerie was an absolute sport about the chilly temps, and I’m so pleased with the sun-soaked bridal session. It was the perfect mix of sweet innocence and subtle sexiness. As the sun began to set, I pulled a Victorian sette that I had picked up from an antiques dealer for a few additional photos.
