Due to the never ending winter vortex that we’ve all been suffering through, I’ve found myself shooting more little ones in the studio than ever before. It can sometimes be a struggle to maintain the clean simple look of my brand while getting a variety of images for a gallery, especially when working with toddlers. It’s easy to want to jump into using a variety of colorful backgrounds and props as a surefire way fill a gallery with multiple looks. But, what I really love are simple, clean images full of natural tones, where the focus is on the child. For this session, I used items that Hannah really loved: her favorite book full of pretty princesses, her sweet little dolly, and a little bit of dance play with scarves, since she is a “ballerina.” I especially love how it shows the ever-changing moods of a toddler: from giggly and happy, to so serious in the blink of an eye.
